Aurel Caldararu, a boilermaker from Doljan who wants to be connected to electricity to work more

Aurel Căldărariu is 66 years old and is a Roma blacksmith from Dolj county. From the age of 12 he worked at CAP, alongside his father and brother. "From father to son we are a family of blacksmiths," he told us.

He doesn't have his workshop because he doesn't have electricity. "You found me with a forge, you found me with a work, with a real work, with a horseshoe, with a knife to skin bulls, with what you want," the old blacksmith told us bitterly.

He works where he can. "I work either at my sister's nephew or my sister's boy or cousin Jean's nephew. I have about three nephews who are blacksmiths, but they don't know what I know", Aurel's niece tells us.

He hopes that the town hall will help him at some point to connect to the electricity network.
