Between May 24-30, 2022, the "Rom(a)nor Interferences" research team composed of Florian Dumitrache, Petre Terescenco, Cătălin Stoian, Răzvan Petcu, Aurelia Tudor and Georgiana Onoiu, as well as assistant manager Rareș Dina carried out a first campaign of field research on Roma from Călărași county. The team was completed by Mari Moystad, representative of Glomdal Anno Museum. The following localities were targeted: Modelu, Spanțov, Roseți, Chirnogi, Mănăstirea, Chiselet, Călăraşi, Oltenita.
Along with the members of the local administrations, the main interlocutors were: Maria and Vergica Gâtan (quarrier craftsmen, Mănăstirea), Ion Turbatu (quarrier craftsman, Spanțov), Constantin Nedelcu (quarrier craftsman, currently sculptor, Spanțov), Stanca and Aurel Ioniță (craftsman blacksmith, Chirnogi), Maria Lăcătuș (teacher in Călărași), Marin Drugu (brickmaker, Stancea).
Among the significant aspects identified, we note: quarry craftsmen from Călărași county (history, architecture, customs, traditional craft, contemporary craftsmen); blacksmithing – traditional craft associated with the Roma ethnic group in Chirnogi; brick making in Stancea, Spanțov commune; local traditions from Spanțov commune.
