Between October and November 2022, the "Rom(a)nor Interferences" research team composed of Florian Dumitrache, Petre Terescenco, Cătălin Stoian, Răzvan Petcu, Aurelia Tudor and Georgiana Onoiu, as well as assistant manager Dina Rareș-Ioan carried out a campaign of field research on Roma from Olt county. The team was completed by Mari Moystad, representative of Glomdal Anno Museum. The following localities were targeted, as follows:
- October 14 – 24: Scărișoara, Babiciu, Fălcoiu, Osica de Sus, Călui, Grădinari, Drăgănești Olt, Ianca, Caracal, Iancu Jianu.
- October 25 – November 1: Coteana, Mărunței, Drăgănești Olt, Brebeni, Şerbănești, Văleni, Grădinari, Șopârlită.
The main interlocutors were: Ioana Velea called Iulica (relative, Chilii village, Fălcoiu commune), Trăilă Marin (wicker stick braider, Chilii village, Fălcoiu commune), Mihai Gheorghe called Năsturel (boiler maker, Osica de Sus), Stan Moțoc ( quarryman, Scărișoara), Marin Bocea (blacksmith, Drăgănești Olt), Constantin Iorgu (brickmaker, Petculești village, Gădinari commune), Stan and Lelioara Bolovan (quarriers from Babiciu), Soioc Ilie (representative of the Roma from Scărișoara), Gabriel Stângă and Gabriel Neagu (young violinists from Drăgănești Olt), Emanuel Fieraru (expert on Roma issues, Drăgănești Olt).
Among the significant aspects identified, we note:
- Rudarii – a minority with strong professional adaptability (Olt county).
- Caldărarii from Osica de Sus, Olt county.
- Stick braiding in the village of Chilii, Fălcoiu commune.
- Portret de meșter: cărămidarul Iorgu Constantin din satul Petculești, comuna Grădinari.
- Brief considerations regarding the customs and traditions of the Roma from Olt county.
