The Rom(a)Nor team visiting the Norwegian Forest Museum in Elverum

As part of the exchange of experience in the restoration, conservation and promotion of heritage objects, on September 15, 2022, team members Rom(a)Nor Interferences they visited the Norsk Skogmuseum (Norwegian Forest Museum) in Elverum, an institution dedicated to the forest, hunting, fishing and outdoor life. It is the only museum of its kind in Norway and one of the most visited in this country.

Norwegians are great nature lovers and are among the world champions when it comes to protecting the environment. That is why the museum has two large sections. The first, "PATHWAYS in various natures", presents Norwegian life in nature and how important hunting, fishing and gathering of mushrooms and berries were and still are. The exhibition also presents Norwegian wildlife: both huntable species and information about protected species. The "Forest in Focus" section presents how the forest has evolved and how forest resources have shaped forestry. In addition, visitors will see the evolution of the forestry industry in Norway and how the transition to its motorization was made.

During the visit, representatives of the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village met with Henric Josefsson who is a carpenter, restorer and house builder. He presented the ways for dismantling houses in the territory and their subsequent reassembly in museums.

After visiting the exhibitions in the museum, the team of Romanian specialists was invited to Henric Josefsson's workshop, where the Norwegian specialist gave a short demonstration of woodworking.
