As part of the first craft fair ROM(a)NOR Interferences, held between July 28-30, 2023 by the National Museum of the Dimitrie Gusti Village, the colored historical archive exhibition on the Roma in Romania was also launched.
It is about 40 photographs from the museum's collections, dating from the period 1927 - 1971, and digitally colored by Jecinci. They were made by famous photographers or museographers, such as: Iosif Berman, Nicolae Ionescu, Lucia Apolzan, Ion Chelcea, Boris Zderciuc, Gheorghe Dinuță, George Gruia, Georgeta Stoica, Gheorghe Focșa, Nicolae Pușcașu. The photos illustrate different aspects or poses of Roma life: types of housing (houses, brothels, tents), occupations (fiddlers, blacksmiths, weavers, bricklayers, fortune-tellers, etc.), elements regarding weddings and funerals, sequences from the world of nomadic Roma or, simply, portraits of Roma.
