Exchange of experience in the field of restoration, conservation and promotion of heritage objects with Norwegian partners (12 – 19 September 2022)

Between September 12-19, 2022, the team of specialists (conservators/restorers) of the Museum accompanied by manager Paulina Popoiu and Rareș Dina, head of department Permanent outdoor exhibition. Repertoire vernacular architecture took part in the first job-shadowing action in Norway at the Glomdal museum in Elverum.

The team included:

– Adriana Niță, conservator;

– Constantin Răducan, wood restorer;

– Costică Pavel, wood restorer;

– Albu Viorel, restorer of wood and fresco painting;

– Constantin Marius Marin, metal restorer.

Pregătiri de plecare

The activity, part of the project, had as its objective the exchange of experience and the transfer of knowledge in the field of protecting the common European cultural heritage. Aspects related to the history of the Roma, the role and place of the Roma in society, similarities and differences in the dynamics of the relationship between the Roma and the majority population, as well as the contribution of the Roma to the socio-historical development of the two countries were analyzed.

Among the actions performed within this activity, we mention:

Research in museums, discussions with museographers, conservators and local restorers, exchange of experience.

Visiting the Latjo drom exhibition at the Glomdal museum dedicated to the history of the Roma in Norway.

Visiting the sanctuary of the Sami minority population and the Daniel Mortenson memorial house in the Engerdal National Park.

Visiting several ethnographic museums in the areas of Elverum, Hamar, Lillehammer.

Visiting a modern building of quarantine, storage, restoration of cultural assets, belonging to the Anno museum group.

Visiting the wood restoration workshop of Henric Josefsson, restorer of the Glomdal Museum.
